Charleston things to do, but not in any particular order of importance!

House Tours:

Heyward Washington Home  (87 Church St, south of Broad)  Tickets
            (Charleston Museum included, but not worth the time)
             (And be sure to do the audio self tour, as you will learn more!)

Nathaniel Russell Home   (51 Meeting Street, south of Broad)

Walks:  (take lots of pictures)

King St. (Broad St. to South Battery)
Tradd St. (Meeting St. to East Bay)
Church St. (Broad St. to South Battery)
Rainbow Row (East Bay to White Point Garden "The Battery")

Walking Tours:

            Take a private/semi private tour with Mark Jones, the foremost Charleston
            Historian/Author/Tour Guide. Book at least a week in advance. Website

Food:

Fleet Landing $$ (Concord St. at Cumberland St.) Website
            Average food, but the ONLY restaurant on the water!
            Reservations Required (at least a week in advance). 
            Get an outside table.

Circa 1886 $$$$ (At the Wentworth Mansion (Wentworth St. at Smith St.)  Website
            Unique Setting, imaginative menu.
            Reservations Required (at least two weeks in advance). 

39 Rue de Jean $$$ (39 John St, North on King from Calhoun, east of John St.)

            A favorite for French Cuisine.
            Reservations Required (at least a week in advance)  Website

Marina Restaurant $ (Lockwood Dr. Ashley River Marina)  Website
            Long time local favorite, very casual, authentic southern food
            (Shrimp  & Grits!)
            Closed Monday and Tuesdays!
            Take a Pedicab from your Hotel. Pedicab Number: 843.577.7088

Gaulart & Maliclet Cafe (98 Broad St. - Just east of King St) Website
            A casual French Restaurant. Great for Lunch and conducive for  
           conversation.

Off the Peninsula (if you have a car)

Reds Ice House (on Shem Creek, Mt. Pleasant)  Website

Best at sunset, sitting on their outside deck, try the Grouper Sandwich and your favorite beer! Super busy on the weekend, so pick a week day.

 The Grumpy Goat (1023 Harbor View Rd, James Island)  Website

            Just one of my favorites for Mexican Food.

Bars:  Any on King St, north of John St.
